This session will provide the basics of investigating blood sports, focusing on cock fighting and dog fighting. We will cover signs that indicate animals are being used for fighting, typical housing practices and enclosures, and implements and equipment used in animal fighting. Investigation procedures will be discussed, along with the role of law enforcement, methods of gathering evidence and recommendations for impoundment processes. Current California law and its application to blood sports will be included in this important session on the cruel practices of blood sports and prosecuting these crimes against animals.
