Two-day 'Fantastic Felines' workshops draw 120 area vets

Around 120 shelter and private practice veterinarians celebrated the start of Be Kind to Animals Week with two days of “Fantastic Felines” workshops in Santa Maria meant to help vets treat specific diseases and encourage anxiety-free vet visits.

Organized by the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, the events brought animal behavior expert Steve Dale and Albuquerque-based veterinarian Dr. Glenn Olah to lead area veterinarians in workshops to help improve the health of the region’s furry friends.

In addition to staff members of the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, the workshops included veterinary professionals from Woods Humane Society, the Santa Barbara Humane Society, Santa Barbara County Animal Services, the Animal Shelter Assistance Program, the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society and private practice vets from San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
